NCSE Policy Advice 2024: Key UDL Recommendations

The NCSE's Policy Advice Paper No. 7: An Inclusive Education for an Inclusive Society (2024) represents the most explicit and comprehensive endorsement of UDL in Irish educational policy to date. The paper named UDL as the best practice approach to inclusive education and recommended: developing a coordinated whole-school professional development programme in inclusion, UDL, and disability awareness; providing professional learning for school leaders informed by UDL; ensuring continuous teacher professional learning in inclusion and UDL; and requiring the NCCA to review curriculum frameworks at all levels to ensure they are underpinned by a UDL approach.
