Post-Primary Education: Junior Cycle

At post-primary level, the Framework for Junior Cycle (2015) has been the most significant driver of UDL-aligned curriculum reform. The framework's emphasis on broad learning outcomes, flexible assessment, and student wellbeing creates space for UDL-informed teaching and learning. The Junior Cycle provides a variety of pathways for students, including Level 1 Learning Programmes (L1LPs) for students with moderate to severe learning disabilities and Level 2 Learning Programmes (L2LPs) for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, alongside mainstream subjects and short courses.
