Post-Primary Education: Senior Cycle and NCSE Pilot

The Senior Cycle Review has identified inclusive education and diversity as a guiding principle, with a proposed key competency stating that 'the educational experience in senior cycle is inclusive of every student, valuing and respecting diversity and the contribution each student can make.' Oide (formerly Junior Cycle for Teachers and the Professional Development Service for Teachers) has incorporated UDL into aspects of its professional learning programmes, and the NCSE has announced a pilot of UDL in 45 schools in Ireland, beginning in September 2025.
