The Equal Status Acts 2000–2018
The Equal Status Acts (2000–2018) extended anti-discrimination protections to education, prohibiting discrimination on nine grounds including disability, race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, marital status, age, and membership of the Traveller community. These Acts require reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and promote positive action measures to achieve equality. The nine protected grounds closely align with the seven equity themes addressed in UDL Guidelines 3.0.
