UDL and Educator Development
The evidence also supports the value of UDL for educator professional development. Davies and colleagues (2013) found that instructor training in UDL positively impacted university students' course perceptions, with students reporting positive changes in instructor use of UDL strategies. Rusconi and Squillaci (2023) conducted a systematic review demonstrating that UDL training courses have significantly positive effects on educators' ability to design accessible lessons and implement them effectively. Fornauf and colleagues (2021) found that faculty who used UDL to analyse their teaching practice identified barriers that impeded student access, which prompted a redesign of programme components and coursework.
