UDL in Higher Education

At the higher education level, East Carolina University (2017) reported that undergraduate students assisted by UDL-trained tutors achieved pass rates of 90–100%, significantly higher than under other tutoring models. A school district implementing UDL-based instruction over several years scored above the state average on state standardised tests (CAST, 2024). Hall and colleagues (2015) demonstrated that students with learning disabilities improved their reading comprehension scores after using the UDL-based 'Strategic Reader' tool.
