Ghana and Intel agree to scale K-12 AI skills programme — 23 September 2026

What is confirmed

Ghana’s Information Services Department confirmed on 23 September 2026 that Ghana has signed an agreement with Intel Corporation to expand AI education in schools. The agreement says Ghana will work with Intel, Coral Reef and the Ministry of Education to scale the AI for Youth Programme and introduce responsible AI teaching and learning into K-12 classrooms across the country.

Status

CONFIRMED PARTNERSHIP / PLANNED ROLLOUT — not legislation and not a binding school rule.

The official announcement confirms the agreement and national-scale intent. It does not set out a school-by-school implementation timetable or a new mandatory legal requirement for schools.

Why it matters

The programme is aimed at helping students understand and use AI safely, responsibly and effectively. This is separate from Ghana’s earlier TVET AI and digital-skills partnership already covered by Autism & Me.
